My book collection is starting to grow again 🥹🤍 I used to read a lot as a kid that back in 2nd grade I was already reading at middle school level. In kindergarten I was already reading Junie B. Jones and The Magic Treehouse. I barely remembered reading any other books with pictures in them cause I didn’t like that at all. In middle school I would steal my sister’s books to read once she would be finished with then. I was always the kid who had a book in her hands everywhere she went and read during classes no matter what subject I was in. Crazy how they take away the cellphones but not books as distraction right? 🤣 each time a teacher asked me why I was reading, my immediate answer was “it’s an interesting book”. For reports in high school, I was almost always the first one to turn in book reports because of how fast I would read through a book. I could never participate in group readings because I would always read ahead and have to go back to whatever page the rest of the class would be on. I stopped reading for a few years after covid hit due to me trying to make content full time and going through many mental hardships that it caused me to lose interest in the things that made me… well… me. Now I got 20+ books waiting to be read or be reread, some brand new, some I’ve had since I was growing up. Some part of me has healed and is happy when I see my collection. I’m slowly starting to find myself again and something as little as this makes me feel alive again.
