I had the most amazing 4 nights @Cae Llwyn Breaks after 3 years of having diabetes, recent family loss and all the other things life likes to throw at you. I managed to stay semi-keto and planned meals ahead of our stay. We had chicken wings for starters some nights, bolognese with edamame pasta, rump steaks with seasoned baked swede, a full roast, and even gammon steaks on our last night. We also had a full English breakfast every morning before dipping and relaxing in the hot-tub most days. There was opportunities for beautiful walks and we even went on a hike 500m up a mountain, being greeted by some escapee sheep and lamb at the top.. The town and the community were truly wonderful, and Rhayader itself had stunning views and was home to many of the country’s Red Kites, a bird of prey which we spotted right by our lodge on the drive in. The lodge had everything you may need, we were furnished with a hand and body towel each, dishwasher tablets for each night, fairy liquid, kitchen foil and cellophane. The smart TV was equipped with every app we desired, even Apple TV. We also had a hoover, mop, brush and tower fan provided. There was a large Tesco, and Aldi 10 minutes away which had extremely friendly staff and was very cheap compared to other places we’ve been. Everybody we met seemed to want to converse and it really was astonishing to see the real sense of community in Rhayader.
