I’m sure by now you have heard of the TikTok trend “slugging” — covering your entire face with Vaseline before you go to bed for hydrated skin. In my opinion, slugging can be helpful for driving in products, but I wouldn’t recommend using plain Vaseline alone on the skin as it may worsen acne and blackheads. Also, never use Vaseline on unclean skin as it will drive whatever’s on the skin into the skin. Meaning if your skin has dirt, oil, bacteria on it, that will stay locked into the skin, worsening things, such as rosacea and acne. Vaseline as well as Aquaphor have been used for wound healing for decades it causes a sealant to lock in the moisture and help keep the skin hydrated. However, there are so many great moisturizers on the market that actually drive into the skin rather than sitting on top of the skin. If you absolutely want to use Vaseline, I recommend using antioxidant, rich serums and a hyaluronic acid serum, then using the Vaseline or Aquaphor, as a sealant to seal those products in. 📱For scheduling and information, please call 949-706-2887.
