We are so happy with how our basement renovation turned out! Save this post for when you are renovating your basement. ❤️ •We felt that having to open up our ceiling to get to a pipe would be so rare, and if there ever was a problem we could simply open up the ceiling and patch it up after. Taking down the drop ceiling helped us gain over 6” of ceiling height. So worth it! •We decided to put carpet in our basement because with 4 little ones, we wanted to make sure they can run around and play without getting hurt. We upgraded the padding under the carpet to a moisture resistant material so that mold and that “musty basement rug smell” wouldn’t be an issue. Adding the padding made a world of a difference being on a concrete slab. It’s so plush and comfortable to walk on. He came to our house, took measurements, and sent me samples based on my inspo pics. I never even had to visit the store. We went with the brand DW Select, style is Montreal and color is Lions Bay. Such a great experience and would use them again! •We painted the basement walls BM Swiss Coffee 75% strength in a matte finish, ceiling is BM White Dove in a flat finish, and trim is BM Clay Beige in a satin finish. •When staining your banister, opt for a gel stain as it gives the wood a richer look. We went with @minwaxusa Coffee Gel Stain with a satin finish gel topcoat by @generalfinishes. •We all know those gray metal poles are not it.
