Shot this video when it was fliiiiiiiipin freezing. The upstand for the drain wasn’t central to the tap. So, when I turned the tap on…it missed the drain. I was going to move the tap position BUT, the water pipe was buried in the wall and wasn’t accessible so if it burst……I would have been in serious trouble!!! SO, I installed a bigger drain and took away the upstand so I could sweep in rain water. While I was at it, I cleaned up the brickwork, replaced some of the mortar and cleaned the tap. One of those little tutorials for those who (like me) are learning!!!! If you need a perfect hole cuttting into wood, metal or plastic that is bigger than a hole from a standard large drill bit, go to your local DIY shop (always try local first) and ask for a holesaw drill bit. You get the hex shank (the middle bit) and onto this you can attach different sized holesaws. I used it for this drain cover. Put some old timber underneath to srill against and it was perfect to connect to this waste pipe. 🎯 Also a bit of classic old 90s/00s dance music on this reel. How the two worlds collide!!! This was a load of fun. There was a wall that had no purpose so got some ideas together and sent them to the lovely team at DIY Alcove Cabinets. It goes like this….you measure, measure again, sketch design, they send plans, you approve, they make, you build (unless you go for their fitting service). This was a big job so took three of us but all done in a day.
