Ovulation predictor kits turn positive when a gonadotropin hormone, LH, is secreted by the pituitary gland in response to high estrogen levels from the mature egg in the ovary. The LH signals ovulation (egg release from the ovary) about 24-36 hours after the first positive kit. You dont need to keep teting once you see a positive (the LH can stay elevated for a few days) You also dont need to wit to see a positive ovulation predictor kit (OPK) to start trying (you dont want to miss a cycle because you waited to see a positive OPK.
