April is a hard month for me. This month will be 4 years since my abuser laid hands on me for the last time. Many memories come flooding back around this time of year. Samara is nearing two years old and let me just say.. Thank god. I knew when I welcomed her into our family that she would be a challenge. She has definitely taught me patience, after training my shepherd I got very comfortable in the fast pace training you can do with such biddable dogs but as much as Samara looks Shepherd she is also part husky and during training this is very obvious. Determined but stubborn is what I would call her. Here’s some clips from our most recent outdoor training session, where we worked on recall, heel work, placement, paying attention to handler and ignoring distractions.
