Brown butter miso Rice Krispies treats recipe ⬇️ 5 tbsp unsalted butter (use melt 2 tbsp to combine with miso paste and reserve 3 tbsp to melt on the pan) 2 tbsp white miso paste 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal 3 cups mini marshmallows (use 2 cups to melt on the pan and 1 cup to mix in with the cereal) 1/2 tsp vanilla extract Pinch of salt 1. Prepare a baking dish with parchment paper to pour the Rice Krispies treats into 2. Melt 2 tbsp butter and combine it with miso paste. Adding just miso straight into melted butter on a hot pan usually burns the paste hence this step. 3. On a pan, melt rest of the butter (3 tbsp) 4. Once melted, add the miso butter and mix well on medium-low heat. 5. Occasionally swirl the pan. The butter mixture will foam, crack, and pop. When the crackling stops, swirl pan until it gets nutty smell and brown bits start to form. About 2-3 mins. 6. On low heat, add 2 cups of marshmallow and stir to combine with the butter. 7. Once melted, removed from the stove. 8. Immediately add vanilla extract and pinch of salt. 9. Pour in the cereal and remaining marshmallows 10. Pour onto the baking dish with parchment paper 11. Let it cool for 1hr before cutting into it. #ricekrispies #ricekrispytreats #marshmallow #brownbutter #miso #aapi
