Do you see perfection masking the insecurities of which you bestowed upon me? Look closer…look deeper. Do you see the flaws seeping through my pores? The scars embedded in my unforgiving soul? What about the pain behind these obsidian eyes of mine? The baggage visible on my face, Hiding the truth to protect the weak minded. Do you see the self hatred behind my beaming smile? The childlike screams for help smothered by the laughter? Discomfort behind the unwarranted selfish eye from others- Played off by an awkward chuckle- Tell me….do you see it? Or do these thighs of mine and cocoa butter smooth skin distract you? Do these smooth lips stop you from noticing me? Or does it stop you from enjoying my presence, my wisdom that only a few can comprehend? Does the physicality of my being upset the equilibrium of your mind? Does it tell you ‘I’m not worthy to be in your atmosphere’? Or are you unworthy to even glance upon me in my glory- broken beyond your limitations and yet, somehow…. stronger. ~by honey
