Reach through the opening of your arm and gather the entire ponytail into your hand. Pull your hand back through the opening as you wrap it under your thumb but up and over your hand. Place the tail under the hand that’s holding the base of the ponytail. Insert hair pin in between your thumb and the inside of the bun. The prongs must hook *behind* the tail before you flip the pin over and glide it across your scalp. Make sure the prongs exit on top of the outside of the bun.
