Remember: you did good today 👍🏻 I think it’s hard to give ourselves grace when a shift didn’t... play out how we’d hoped. Or when a class didn’t get the grade we hoped for. Even with the frustration of it being a difficult day, you more than likely did things, even something small, for your patients or families that they appreciated. Or something small for yourself that was much needed. You did good today. Even if a patient wasn’t medically doing well, you were on top of it with doing whatever was needed and showing how much of an amazing PA you are (or will be!). You did good. Let that shift go. Let that grade go. Let that frustration go. You DID do good.

Are you in PA school? Or maybe you’re in medical school in striving for another profession. Taking care of yourself and your mental health is so important in a time that is so extremely stressful! So here are some tips for you: 1) be sure to eat your breakfast (and nutritious foods to help your body and brain function the best) 2) don’t forget your homework, exams, crazy schedules by using calendars that can help keep you organized and on top of upcoming tasks and events 3)put that phone down! Don’t compare yourself to others around you and look and see others victories and doubt your own abilities to be successful! 4) don’t be careless! Make sure in your PA school application, in PA school, and beyond that you are taking care of yourself mentally AND physically so that you can show up day in and day out as your best self! Helping aspiring and current PA students is my passion and if you’re needing help in your journey to becoming a fulfilled and thriving practicing physician assistant. Don’t hesitate to schedule a one on one call with one of the Posh PA coaches today so that you can show up as your best self in your application and beyond!

What separates you from the competition when applying to PA school? What truly makes you special among the pool of hundreds or thousands of other applicants. We think about making sure we have a competitive GPA, enough healthcare experience, and a strong academic background. But if every single person has similar previous healthcare experience as you and the same GPA, how can you stand out? Here are 3 ways your application can stand out: 1) share personalized experiences you’ve been apart of - medical missions trips, research projects, volunteer work, and other experiences that have shaped your passion in healthcare 2) diversity of skills and perspective - if you have a background in a non-traditional field such as art, engineering, or business and demonstrate how the skills you have acquired can complement your future as a PA 3) leadership and innovation - where did you hold a leadership role where you took initiative, showed innovation, or used critical thinking in v curious situations These three ways to stand out (plus more) can help you shine in your upcoming PA school application! If you are struggling to find ways to stand out, book a session with The Posh PA team today and we will help you craft the perfect personal statement and shine in your PA school application!
