That is the meaning of the word attention. When you have single focus on the negative things in life, the positive becomes invisible. If you are focused on problems, cannot see solutions. Neville is teaching us to remove our attention and focus off of all of our problems, so that we can create space in our mind. When we use that space to focus on the outcomes that we want, and learn to balance our mind and reject the temptation of identifying ourselves with our current results, we can begin to change and grow. this does not mean, you should not be aware of what is happening in the world, the injustice, the inequality, and all the other horrific things. Be aware of those, but be more focused on the solutions than the current conditions. Focus on justice, equality, and healing the world. In your current reality, if you were struggling with a lack of money, stop focusing all of your attention on high prices, low bank balances, in low wages. Instead, focus your mind and attention on the income and lifestyle you want to have. Have your mind focused on one simple question, “What can I do today that will help me increase my income, and move me closer to my goals?” When your mind focuses all your attention on solutions, you will be led to behave and act in different ways. That new behavior and response to what the outside world delivers to you, will help you shift your results. For the rest of the in the world, it is a creation of the collective unconscious. We have to recognize, as our individual power to shape our individual life grows, we can be of a greater service to the whole of humanity, but you cannot force other people to change. Everybody has the ability to choose, for themselves what they will become. Make yours a conscious choice, and invite others to follow.
