The only pregnancy I’m dealing with right now, mom…is my dumpling food baby haha As a millennial, for the past 10 years, I’ve seen the shift in discussion. From terms such as ‘leftover women’ to now having a great majority of my female friends deciding to have kids later in their life. But why is it? We’ve progressed a long way from that but even if youre married, our current modern world structure doesn’t allow us to simply have kids. We’re so hesitant because work and life is so hectic and uncertain. Many of us don’t have the family support system the last generation had. Plus a hundred more reasons. That’s why, we now have options such as egg freezing! To give us more time until we figure out shit out. Because unlike men, if we do want kids, we have a shorter biological timeline. I think for me, it was never about societal or family pressure, but understanding why do I want kids? (Keeping that private) is there a right time to have kids? You’ll know when you know. Having kids of my own really would be special but theres no rush. What ever the reason and however you find it, just like any major decision in your life, instead of focusing too much on the outcome. Focus on your intentions and it’ll come. So before you get excited that im abnormally craving a grilled cheese sandwich mom. Let me first patiently find someone who I have a connection and compatible with. Who respects me and mutually wants to build a life together with. …then you can ask me.
