a quick overview of Eosinophilic Esophagitis and the CURED Conference @CURED Foundation . EOE is a rare chronic immune system disease affecting the esophagus, that causes a host of gastrointestinal issues and notably swallowing issues and food impactions. EOE is caused by an allergic trigger to food or environmental allergies and it is difficult to find your triggers, so patients will undergo many endoscopies to cut out triggers for 6+ weeks and rescope. Some patients will not respond to diet therapy and will need to take medication. But even finding the correct medication can take time. So it is a tough journey for a lot of patients and that is why EOE research is so important! #curedfoundation #eosinophilicesophagitis
