The word ‘MANY’ stood out to me in the passage, ‘Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ - Matthew 7:22-23. MANY individuals are engaged in works bearing the facade of service to God, when, in fact, these efforts are rooted in SELF-service! In the scripture, they performed all those deeds without having any true intimacy with Jesus. So it wasn’t about glorifying Him, but about self. In our walk with God, it is important to seek guidance from the Holy Spirit to discern whether our acts are genuinely in service to God or veiled attempts at serving ourselves.
