Texts to my wife:  For those who don’t know my story, I was diagnosed with breast cancer on 9/21/21  at 36 years old.  My wife Leanne was 35 at the time.  We had already been in survival mode for three years because prior to my diagnosis our youngest daughter was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Arteries, a major congenital heart defect that required open heart surgery along with round the clock care.   We were also still heavily in the midst of a pandemic.  At the point we were at, diagnosis like then one I had could’ve devastated our marriage.  It could’ve destroyed everything we had worked for.  I am currently 25 months NED (no evidence of disease).  I am continuously running towards that five year mark, which will then have me sprinting toward the ten year.  You can see from our texts that there were a lot of unknowns.  There still are. But what I knew then, and what I still know now, is that I want to see my kids grow up. I want to grow old with Leanne.  I want to be at the end and think “This was a good life.  I got to see and feel and experience everything I wanted to.”  These feelings resurface every six months when I get ready for another scan and another oncology appointment.  And during the inbetween?  Well, I’m watching my kids grow up and growing old with Leanne. Texts to my wife: Bluey made Leanne and I better parents. I will never forget the first time I really sat down and watched this show. It was the episode “Baby Race” and by the end, I was sobbing. It encompassed parenting in the most beautifully painful and humorous way, wrapped up in a children’s television show. But I know, this show was made just as much for us as it was for our kids. We were invited to a sneak preview of The Sign yesterday on the Disney Studio Lot. It premiered today on @Disney+ and @Disney Junior and it won’t let you down. It was perfect. Thank you, Bluey for giving us one of the best shows on television. What’s your favorite Bluey episode? Let me know 💕

I am currently at my mammogram waiting for a Ultrasound to take a closer look at ny scar tissue. I could never do this without Leanne because she will alwayd make my life a little eaiser.
