Full video with Rag Rag, Jomar, and the Turon crew is on my YouTube. Also making appearances is a really polite police officer with a giant gun and some really chill hotel staff that gave me directions. #philippines #tagalog #filipino #learntagalog #tagalogkurt

Honesty, getting out to the barangay and speaking with people is not only the absolute best way for me to improve my Tagalo, but it also is just healing for my soul. Filipino people are known for their warmth and kindness and it just makes you remember how great the world can be to be around them. Salamat po Pilipinas! ❤️😭🇵🇭💯 #philippines #filipino #tagalog #travel #learntagalog

Las Paginas de Historia (Pages of History) is a modern art installation located in the lobby of the Admiral hotel in Manila. The pages display a variety of Baybayin symbols, which is one of the ancient Filipino writing systems, flying up towards a stained glass mural depicting a group of Filipinos working together to transport a bahay kubo (bamboo house) to a new location. This is the Filipino concept of "Kapwa", which is difficult to describe, but it basically embodies a people's sense of a shared identity by belonging to a community with a common history. The interpretation of the installation is that the shared history of Filipinos (represented by the pages of Baybayin) is what contributes to the foundational structure of Kapwa (the pages flying up into the mural). If you're in Manila check out the installation and big shout out to Nino (@ Manila.gent on IG) for introducing me to this beautiful piece of art. #philippines #filipino #history #art
