This was my list of tendencies and characteristics that I thought were normal 💔…until I learned they are symptoms of dysregulation and driven by the subconscious mind. The precursor to all the supplements, fancy devices, and wellness hacks is reprogramming the subconscious mind. If you want to fully heal, you need to reprogram the subconscious mind to remove any hidden beliefs, values, or identities that might be hindering your ability to heal. ‼️‼️ So how are each of these physical symptoms linked to dysregulation? Identifying as a type A perfectionist was my thing and I was proud. After struggling with chronic illness for 10 years I learned that these signs of a hypervigilant nervous system. I had the beliefs that I used to constantly struggle with anxiety, the day in and day out ruminating thoughts about past and future events or experiences. Rumination, dwelling on negative thoughts, activates the amygdala, a fear center in the brain. This reinforces negative pathways, increasing stress and anxiety. I used to be hyperaware of every single ingredient I was putting in my body and every cleaning product ingredient I was using in my house, this only created more fear. Fear is the fuel that feeds chronic illness. Feeling the need to do more, be more, and achieve more activates the sympathetic nervous system leaving us in a hyperactive state. The pressure to constantly strive can deplete energy and hinder the body's natural healing processes.
