"Dear Mr. Man," the 11th track on Musicology, is a piece of Afrocentric social commentary sung in the form of a letter in which Prince addresses poverty, pollution, war, and the political climate of the time. Track 10 on Musicology is "On the Couch," a slow and sensual R&B-infused tune that was originally demoed at Paisley Park in January 2003, but was re-recorded at Metalworks Studios in Ontario. Originally demoed by engineer Hans-Martin Buff on February 11, 1999 at Paisley Park (as “The Man In Your Life”), it was eventually reworked at Metalworks Studios, in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
