When is the right time to feed your plants? Short answer: when they receive enough light to photosynthesize and optimally utilize the extra nutrients to grow and thrive. Here in Portland Oregon that time is between March and October when we add 2 teaspoons of concentrated, organic Sacred Soil Tonic to every gallon of water and then shake up a foamy, nourishing #sacredsoilbath and enjoy an extra sensory experience, a sacred plant ritual. Long answer: we love opportunities to strengthen the botanical bridge between plants and humans, after all, we are nature! So if we think about feeding our plants extra nutrients during the winter months or when they are not getting abundant light, it’s a bit like when we eat too much food and then sit around. If we’re not able to use the energy that we put into our bodies, we can become unhealthy. The same goes for plants. The way they use up their energy is through photosynthesis, turning light energy into food energy and utilizing it to grow strong and healthy. And that’s where our tonics come in and shine! Sacred Soil and Sacred Leaf Tonics offer your houseplants and garden a natural, effective, food based, nontoxic pollinator friendly way to do just that plus they repel and treat pests along the way! But don’t take our word for it, check out our library of testimonials from happy customers who have been using our tonics for years. Link in bio or tap post to head to our website! Sending you love for an abundant growing season 🌱🌬️💚 #sacredelements #asmr #plantlife #houseplantclub #soilhealthmatters #sacredsoilbath #sacredplantritualsunday #sacredplants #luffa #loofah #thrips #aphids #fungusgnats #plantcareisselfcare #pdx

Plant parents: Have you tried potting your water props into soil and completely failed? You’re not alone! I had an oxalis triangularis going dormant indoors this winter, it was getting very spindly, so I cut all the stems and have enjoyed it in a windowsill for the past few months, then this happened! Can you grow oxalis in water from a stem cutting? Yes! Will it become a strong and healthy plant in soil? Maybe! When rooting cuttings in water for long periods of time (this is going in three months) often the transition into soil is not successful unless you are super vigilant about keeping the soil moist and hydrated (and adding Sacred Soil Tonic helps too)! Full disclosure though, I usually end up just enjoying water props that get to this stage just like this, changing out part of the water every week and watch as the underwater formation of roots and cormlets and leaves continue to grow. 😃 it’s magical! That said, I have definitely successfully transplanted cuttings and learn new tricks and to share! So yes, I will definitely plant some of these up and see how they grow with a few doses of our Sacred Soil Tonic once they’re in a new soil medium. Stay tuned! Did you read our blog post yet? Plants that Grow from Bulbs, Tubers, Corms, and Rhizomes 🤓 for the big plant nerds out there! Oxalis triangularus aka known as False Shamrock or Purple Shamrock, is an easy to grow, interactive houseplant that reacts to stimuli like movement, sun, heat, light, and touch. We recommend giving your oxalis in soil a dose of the Sacred Soil Tonic once every 2-3 weeks from Spring to Fall and allow to rest during the Winter months. They prefer to stay hydrated (not soggy) and enjoy a fair amount of sunlight but not direct summer sun. Happy growing friends! #sacredelements #oxalis #plantpropagation #plantparenthood #plantsplantsplants
