Pelvic floor PT should be a part of your perinatal care, period. If a doctor tells you that you have to wait until after you have the baby, they are wrong. If there was any other major medical event in your body that caused a massive structural change, you can get prehab for it in PT. If there was any major structural change in your body, period, you would get PT for it. Going through pregnancy is a significant structural change to the body that affects the low back, ribcage, abdomen, and pelvis. We should be learning ways to navigate this change, and pelvic floor PT specializes in treating exactly this. I recently posted a video on my page titled, “What to say if your doctor says you can’t have pelvic floor PT till after baby,” and in the caption I list off all the things that you can say to that. Sometimes we have to advocate for ourselves because the practicing clinician doesn’t know much about another specialty, and that’s ok. The more we advocate for ourselves, the more we help future women going through pregnancy. So yes, you can get pelvic floor PT, and if you’re dealing with incontinence, low back pain, pelvic pain, or preparing for a c-section, you should be coming to see us. #pelvicfloor#pregnancytips

TIME STAMPS IN THE CAPTION because I know not every problem relates to every person. 0:15 - dealing with pelvic pressure when dancing or just by being on your feet for a long time 1:00 - feeling leakage and pelvic floor weakness with every step you take or just by standing for a long time 1:31 - feeling insane urge to pee even though you just went 2:40 - how to stop urge when you know your bladder is really full but you aren’t near a restroom 3:23 - how to deal with pelvic floor cramping or lower abdominal pain I hope this helps! This is not medical advice, but more of frequent education we give in the clinic. What your body needs may be different than a tip provided here, so know that seeing a pelvic floor therapist is going to be best. Also, don’t forget to engage with the video so it’ll get sent to more people! Tag your festival buddy, tell me what festivals you’re going to, and follow for more pelvic health info ❤️ Have fun out there 🪩🎉💃🏻 #coachella#festivalseason#dancing#raving#pelvichealth

As an exclusively pumping mom, it takes me 45 minutes every day to do all the bottles, pump parts, and solids plates and spoons. Sometimes it takes longer. And if there’s other dishes from us adults, it takes me up to an hour. I don’t like using the dishwasher for any of the silicone pieces because they started tasting like soap, and plus, our dishwasher takes 3 hours lol. I don’t have time for that when I need to make him a bottle as soon as I get home. It’s so technical, and boring, and by the time I sit down with my son each day he’s ready for bed lol. So I would love to be paid so I could go home an hour earlier to make up for the hour it takes me in the kitchen. I’m sure once I’m done pumping this will get better. If you’re an exclusively pumping mom who also works full time, I see you! You’re not alone! I’ve figured out little things here and there over the last year to help me get more time with my son, and it does mean less sleep, but worth it at the end of the day. Good luck to you on your journey ❤️ #exclusivelypumping#pumpingmoms#workingmoms

Here are 3 things I do when I have panic attacks. I posted 3 yoga poses I do forever ago, but here are 3 more practical things I do when I don’t have access to lay on the floor. As always, exhales are your magic ingredient and can truly help (with a relaxed jaw, shoulders, and mouth). Little mantras to help distract your mind from ruminating are great. The extreme part of the adrenaline rush should last about 20 minutes, and no one has ever died from a panic attack. Those little reminders always get me by. And then bilateral stimulation in the body of some sort is huge at helping the brain process the sensation with less intensity. Save this for when you need it, and remember to seek out help if the panic attacks are really affecting your life negatively 🩵 #anxiety#panicattacks#breathingtechniques#downregulationtechniques
