The Spring Crocus Faerie is another to emerge in the Magic Garden of the Trillium Forest this season! This is one of our first flowers we see in the garden in the Spring. The crocus flower is a member of the iris family and is native to Europe, North Africa, and Asia. Their name comes from the Greek word “krokos,” which means saffron. This spice actually comes from these flowers, though it is the specific variety known as the saffron crocus or autumn crocus (Crocus sativus). Crocuses are a favorite of bees and provide an early source of nectar and pollen at the start of spring!
