if you just got a positive test.. ⬇️ You’re probably scared out of your mind, and you’re allowed to be. As much as pregnancy/postpartum IS NOT about the bounce back, who doesn’t love a challenge? Pregnancy challenges me to push past my own limits, and even the limits society places on us thinking we can’t do hard things. The postpartum transformation can be wanted without you “not giving yourself grace” - we all deserve to feel our best, especially after being a HOME for another human for 40 weeks. But guess what? It starts DURING pregnancy. The transformation. The recovery. The labor prep. Starts NOW. I am officially in my third trimester with my third baby, I’m still working out “hard” for me, still biking, hiking, doing classes, and wrestling my two boys around. Carrying and delivering 3 babies in <4 years is no joke, but I have the tools and education to do it, and do it damn well. That’s what I am passionate about sharing. I was her too. If I heard this at 23 (which is my mental age lmao), I would be FIRED UP, “oh I work so hard you have no clue!!”, “how disrespectful of what I choose to do!!!”.. yappin away. 😂 I don’t think this audio was made to spite young women working hard and deciding to dedicate their time to the gym - work is still WORK.. but rather to paint the relative differences that do come with becoming a parent and the added grit needed to get through day to day and balance it all. You simply don’t know until you know. I started personal training at 21, and just turned 29. I’ve worked in gyms, corporate centers, and on lunch breaks built my online business into @dbftllc. I’ve coached thousands of women online and remember being younger working with “older women” and moms not understanding how it was so hard to get their workouts in, how they didn’t have the “dedication” to show up 100% every day, why “grocery hauls” were so hard. (Or how they couldn’t help taking little bites of their kids’ snacks… HAHA GUILTY!) WOW did that hit me after kid 1.. and now going on kid 3. Shit IS DIFFERENT. Your body isn’t the same. Your sleep isn’t the same. Your training isn’t the same. And your priorities aren’t the same. I want a healthy relationship with my kids. I want a healthy relationship with my husband. I want a healthy relationship with my clients. It’s not just about me anymore, or in this season of life. We will all always mourn that old part of us. No matter your age. No matter your circumstances life is relative. We all do hard things daily, and keep showing up. But - shoutout to the moms that keep showing up for them and their families. We can see each other and give almost a “Jeep like wave” of appreciation to one another.
