Dogs can teach us so much… Buster was rescued from life on a chain last year. He’d spent years tied up living a miserable life with no hope for adventures. But since he was rescued, Buster has made up for every single moment on that chain. He’s been to the beach, camped outside, wandered the jungle, and spent hours and hours cuddled up to his new mum 🤗 But it’s not just Buster who has had a new lease of life. "Tina was the most unbelievable dog there ever was" 🥰 Some of you may have heard us talking about building "Tina's Hospital" and wondered what was so special about this one dog? If you were around at the time, you'll know just how much she touched so many souls. Despite spending most of her life on a chain, she was the happiest most positive girl in the world and Niall describes her as his soulmate 🥺 You can hear it in his voice in this video, she was 1 in a million. When Tina died, we promised her that we'd help as many dogs like her as possible. She was a lot of the inspiration behind launching Happy Doggo as a charity and expanding our mission so we thought we'd introduce her properly. Little Sandy was all alone in living in a cave on Thursday on a beach scavenging for food. His hopes of survival were very slim indeed at just 3 months old and without a mother. He wasn’t easy to catch but his life has completely changed since then. It was heart breaking watching him for the first few days as he tried to hide from the world in fear. He tried to make himself invisible. After 3 days of decompressing he started to show small flickers of interest in other dogs. I noticed him peering over the hedge curiously. Thats when he decided there was only one man for the job…Billy! Even though there is about 8 years difference in age their big ears make them look identical. It was beautiful to watch Sandy take queues from Billy on how to walk, be on a lead, eat and interact with humans. It’s going to be a very bright future for little Sandy. I’d had a couple of messages about a puppy looking thin and trying to find food on a local beach. Nobody could get near the dog as it was so skittish. What worried me the most was the heat here in Thailand at the moment and a possible lack of water. The bigger local dogs wouldn’t accept this little boy and he was all alone. I was just about to give up when I spotted him under a shelter looking for food before he darted off. It took me a while to trick him into showing me his hiding spot. A little cave on the beach. Luckily it was the perfect spot to block him in an wait for help to arrive. He was trying to bite through the towels catching him but that’s only in self defense. The poor little boy is only 3 months old and completely alone. He was covered in fleas but he got the full treatment at the vets and at the land to clean him up. He’s still terrified but he’s decompressing and happy to be held now. I was covered in sand at the beach after crawling in to catch him so he was an obvious one to name.
