If you want long term success with your reverse diet, here is what I would suggest: 📩 First, save this if you want to reverse diet ❤️ Follow @cschmidt.fit for reverse dieting tips 1️⃣ As a coach who strongly believes that every client NEEDS 👏 a customized 👏 plan, please do not use cookie-cutter approaches to your health! [like simply bumping up your calories by 50 - 100 each week to “reverse diet”]. When it comes to your metabolism, relationship with food, & most importantly your MENTAL HEALTH: investing your time and money in educated resources will pay off in the long run // help avoid backtracking in your journey! 2️⃣ Adjustments in a reverse diet are not actually based on how many calories are adjusted, but rather how many protein, carbs, OR fat. These 3 macros are adjusted [1] ONE at a time, [2] by a different amount depending on the week (some weeks won’t have adjustments), and [3] at certain times based on weekly reverse diet progress indicators (bloat, accuracy of hitting macros, stress levels and cortisol, weight fluctuations, and so much more). 👩🏼🎓Aka what I wrote my masters thesis on AND what I teach my BPM coaching clients (coaching spots almost halfway full, hurry if you’d like a spot)! ❌ Your body doesn’t process food differently based on the time of day it is. Before we dive in, follow @cschmidt.fit (HI, it’s me! Caitlen!) if you want to learn how to ditch the yo-yo dieting world in order to sustainably lose weight, heal your metabolism, and never give up a food you love again! ❤️ ⠀ ⏰ Our body doesn’t have an “internal fat storage” alarm system that when it gets dark, we immediately start storing fat. Just think about that ^^ for a minute for me. 🤔 ▶ Wouldn’t that mean your “fat storage switch” would change with the time zones? ▶ Wouldn’t that mean your “fat storage switch” would go haywire if you traveled to different countries in different time zones? Luckily, there is NO such thing as a “fat storage switch”! So let’s not get our panties in a wad! 😉 In fact, I actually encourage my BPM clients (BPM: my high accountability macro, weight loss, & food freedom coaching) TO eat a meal before bed. ⠀ Sleeping is when our body is at its highest muscle growth and recovery, which is also why sleep is so important - it is how we recover & restore energy levels. ⚡️ ⠀ This is why all my clients track macros (grab my CSchmidt Macro Calculator) so we know the amount of carbs, fat, and protein that they are eating is PRECISE for their metabolism restoration & body/mental goals. ⠀ By having a protein/carb meal before bed - it’s giving your body solid sources of protein for muscle growth and recovery and carbs for energy storage. ⠀ So, don’t be scared to eat before bed!
