2000s Media to ‘Unposed and Unbothered’ This is why I share so much content unposed and unedited. 📺 I regularly think about where beliefs about my body and food came from. From the 2000s to current social media trends. The 2000s, a time when the world seemed obsessed with the idea that to be valued, you had to fit into a size 0 and that it was acceptable to weigh someone on public television. It’s a story of pressure, unrealistic standards, and the constant pursuit of perfection. 📼 As I revisit those old video clips and now new social media trends, it’s clear how deeply these messages affected me and can still impact many others. I believe my worth was tied to my appearance. I felt the pressure to conform to those narrow beauty standards. I have two little sisters who look up to me, just as many of you have younger siblings, children, or loved ones who see you as a role model. They deserve to know that their worth isn’t dictated by their appearance. Their kind hearts, creative talents, and so much more make them incredibly beautiful and special. These experiences are part of what inspired me to start “Unposed and Unbothered.” I struggled with my relationship with food, from b!nge e@ting as a way to cope with my emotions to developing a paralyzing fear of food, resulting in severe undereating. It’s a journey that was painful and isolating, but it’s also one that led me to this point of healing and acceptance. I wanted to break free from the filters, the edits, the shame, and the restrictions that had held me back for far too long. I wanted to show the world what a very normal body can look like when it’s celebrated just as it is. 💖 Now, I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences. What media or social pressures have influenced your beliefs about your body and your relationship with food? How have you worked to overcome them? Conversation is one of the ways we’re able to support each other in embracing our true selves. Keep thriving my friends 💙
