if your gel is crinkly and soft to the touch, it’s not cured 😅 this is also unsafe because uncured gel can lead to allergies & sensitivies! if your gel looks like this, you might be applying too thick of layers & the light cant get through (esp. with dark colors) and/or your lamp isnt strong enough!! Your gel lamp is the #1 most important tool in ensuring your gel manicure is safe and that it doesnt lift!!! If your lamp isn’t strong enough to cure your gel, it will be uncured (& unsafe) and unbonded to your nails which will cause lifting! Here are a few things to keep in mind when picking your gel lamp: - Wattage & voltage are not necessarily enough to know if your lamp is a good choice, nanometers & wavelength are better indicators. Make sure your lamp matches the nanometer requirements of your gel polish. - if you specialize in a brand of gel, use their lamp too or try to find a lamp with matching specifications. For example, i use mostly kokoist products & use their lamp too!
