Replying to @carolinacharm58 After our backyard squirrel was MIA for over a month I am really glad to see that he's back. This little guy has survived some of the craziest weather here in Texas from 70 mph winds to the major freeze in 2021 and several freezes every year since, also huge droughts and hot summers with temperatures of over 115°, and yet he's still alive and kicking and enjoying the sunflower seeds that I feed all the critters in the backyard. The wild bunnies also get their share of seeds from the birds when they drop out some of the feeder. I just don't understand how some people will be all about the birds and try to keep the squirrels out of the feeder. I mean they can all coexist beautifully as this video shows. Before I had the feeder I actually put a big bowl out with sunflower seeds and another one with water that my chicken shared with the birds and with the squirrel.
