Tulum’s new airport is open and there are flights from Chicago! So excited to skip that 2 hour drive! Couple things to note, airport security searches majority of bags even after it goes through the scanner. There’s also not many food options available since it’s still new. The airport is also not busy at all especially now so you will get through customs within 5 or so mins. Overall this is definitely a much easier option than flying into Cancun and renting a car or taking a bus/shuttle!
