Before @samhunt was a country music star, he was a Division 1 college quarterback who had a brief stint in the NFL with the @Chiefs . Hunt grew up in Georgia where he earned all-state honors playing football as a senior. Surprisingly, he wasn’t heavily recruited, but he chose to commit to Middle Tennessee State University. He spent two years at MTSU, but after seeing minimal playijg time, he decided to transfer to @UAB Blazers - Univeristy of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) - prior to his junior year. He went on to start two seasons at UAB, and during the summer going into his junior year, one of his teammates bought a guitar during summer workouts. So, Sam decided to buy one too and soon began teaching himself to play. Soon, he was writing his own songs, and his teammates convinced him to start playing at local bars. After college, Hunt had a tryout with the Chiefs, and he spent two months with them before being released.
