Beef Short ribs recipe 2 lbs boneless beef, short ribs Olive oil Salt & pepper to season each side of the beef 1 onion 8 oz mushrooms sliced 4 cloves garlic minced 2 cups red wine 2 cups beef broth 2 tbsp tomato paste 1 tbsp brown sugar 2 sprigs rosemary 2 sprigs thyme Cornstarch slurry 2 tbsp corn starch 3 tbsp water Directions Season beef, short ribs with salt and pepper on each side. Heat your olive oil in the bottom of your pan and sear all sides until brown. Once brown on all sides set aside. Add your onions and mushrooms to the pan that you seared your beef in. Sauté for about five minutes until ingredients are soften. Add red wine to your pan and scrape the bottom to remove any brown bits. Stirring the beef broth, tomato paste, brown sugar, rosemary, and thyme. Return your short ribs to the pan and cover. Bake it 325° for about two hours or until meat is tender. About 15 minutes before the ribs are done mix your corn starch, slurry with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and about 3 tablespoons of water and add to the pot. This will thicken the liquid making a delicious gravy! Serve your ribs over mashed potatoes and garnish with fresh parsley optional.
