Phonics @hogshawfarm !⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ How we used our flashcards on a day out at the farm…⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ We took full advantage of the lovely weather today and decided to visit @hogshawfarm for the last time this summer.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ As our girls are from three different key stages, we took along our flashcards from phases 2,3 and 5. Teaching sounds through Phonics is a fundamental approach in early education because it helps children understand how letters represent sounds in words. ⠀ ⠀ By learning the individual sounds of letters and letter combinations, children can decode unfamiliar words and improve their reading skills. ⠀ ⠀ Understanding Phonics also lays a strong foundation for spelling and writing, as it enables children to sound out words and spell them phonetically. ⠀ ⠀ Phonics is systematic and helps children develop essential literacy skills that are crucial for reading fluency and comprehension.⠀ ⠀ We teach SATPIN first as they are very common sounds.
