There's plenty of ways to socialize as a homeschooled kid. You can be in Co-Ops, 4H club, homeschool groups, sports, church, field trips like zoos, museum, parks, libraries. The list is expanding every day as homeschooling has tripled over the last few years. Don't comment my posts saying how you once knew a homeschool kid who was socially awkward. For one, homeschooling was very different back then. There was not as many social opportunities like there is now because there wasn't as many homeschoolers back then. Second, kids in public school are currently identifying themselves as cats?! Are we really going to call homeschoolers the awkward ones?! Happy First Day of School! 🥰 We let our kids wake up on their own time but I like to open the blinds to let them know it's morning time! Unless we have plans to be somewhere early, we let our kids get the rest that they need. Our kids are usually out of bed by 9 so we don't rush them to wake up earlier than 9 😊 BEFORE anyone comments how letting my kids sleep in is not going to "prepare" them for work... uhm, they're KIDS! I'm not going to rush their childhood just because they will need to learn how to "wake up early" for work.
