Most people have no idea what "phlebotomy" is, let alone what tests their doctor ordered and how and why those specific tests can help diagnose their sickness. I really enjoy teaching, what medical professionals would consider, THE MOST BASIC stuff. I love that newness, that "Aha!" Moment that people who are not in the medical field have when I explain certain things to them. All it takes is a patient person to help teach grandma what the results of her urine culture mean or to provide insight to a person who is just genuinely curious as to what goes on in a hospital and why the lab does what it does.
