This series is my excuse to go to flushing more haha. Part 2! Tawainese cuisine. I ordered so much because I was so hungry after walking from Manhattan to Flushing. I started off with the fried stinky tofu, don’t mind my faces while eating it😅. The tofu was so juicy but yes it does have a stinky smell so this might not be everyone’s cup of tea. I got these thin noodles and oysters which was super interesting. The noodles were indeed thin and they were in a rich soy sauce (?) based broth. There was a starchier feel to the broth which was comforting but again, some people might not enjoy this. Last but not least I got the pork over rice and this is a Taiwanese classic that I LOVEEE. Me rambling about how much I love dumplings for 1 minute lol. My friend showed me this dumpling shop a little bit ago and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. I LOVE their steamed dumplings they are top tier and you have ago wait 5-10 minutes because that’s how fresh they steam them to order right then and there. A lot of places are precooked and kept warm so they dish they out immediately but this place is QUALITYYY. Pork and cabbage > pork and chive all the wayyyy. The dough is a perfect thickness, not too doughy and got a good chew. So important!!! The filling is so so juicy when it’s steamed and just tastes so fresh. This is the closest dumpling I’ve had to my mom’s homemade ones so I think I’m EXTRA passionate about them hehe. Their scallion pancake and pork and cabbage buns are also ELITE. And their Chinese doughnut and silken tofu.
