Around Fajr time, I like to put on my thobe and step into what I call 'Allah’s company.' Of course, you don’t need to wear a thobe to pray, but for me, it’s become a personal practice—a symbol of simplicity, cleanliness, and modesty. It’s easy to wear, minimal in design, and it sets the tone for the rest of my day. Wearing it feels like I’m gearing up for the most important meeting of the day—standing before my Creator. It reminds me that everything starts with Him and that even the smallest choices, like what I wear, can carry intention. After that, I swap out my thobe for the uniform that takes me to my worldly job, but that first uniform? It’s a reminder that the ultimate purpose of everything I do is for His sake.
