A win rate is the ratio of winning trades to losing trades. But that doesn’t tell you how profitable you are. Say you have a win rate of 70%, meaning that out 100 trades, you’re green on 70 trades and red on 30 trades. If you’re making $100 on those 70 trades that you’re green (+$7,000), and losing $300 on the 30 trades that you’re red (-$9,000), you’re now net -$2,000. You should have a consistent risk tolerance across all your trades.
