Replying to @Swoosh AN HONEST REVIEW OF ALEGRIA TACOS IN OAKLAND PARK, FLORIDA So many of you commented on a previous video that I needed to check out Alegria Tacos in Oakland Park so here's an honest and comprehensive review. It's a small place on a corner and it seems to be popular because the lady in front was friendly and greeted most of the people who came in by name. I got 3 tacos, a torta and a water with the bill coming out to $31.40 but I'll come back to that at the end. You know when you take the first bite of your food and it's so good it triggers the switch in your brain to make a face at it...that was the al pastor taco here. The carnitas and chorizo were really good but that one was a level above. Also the tortillas had a little crisp to them that made took 'em up a notch. The torta was huge, I got it with al pastor and all it's usual fixings like avocado, lettuce, tomato, sour cream etc. and it'll satisfy anyone coming in with a big appetite. Now back to the bill, each taco I ordered was $4.55 and the torta was just under $15. This economy sucks but I think you should still check this place out. AN HONEST AND COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF TACOS EL PAPI IN OAKLAND PARK, FLORIDA First thing, the portions of these tacos were really small and that wouldn’t be an issue if they were like $2.50 each but all the tacos about $3.50 to 4.50 each. For context, I got 4 tacos and a small horchata and it came out to $20. The horchata was amazing, plenty of cinnamon and it didn’t have that chalky feel to it so I think they make it in house. The 4 tacos I had were al pastor, saudero, head meat and brain. I’ve had brain only once before and I didn’t like but I wanted to see if different preparation would give me a different experience with it. All the other tacos were good in terms of flavor and they make their own tortillas but I didn’t enjoy the brain taco. If you’ve ever had brain, you know that texture is not for everyone and I just couldn’t get past it. Overall, I’d say if you live in the area give it a shot but don’t drive out of your way for it.
