Replying to @vanessaalvarez1189 The teacher was an absolute hero and took off her glasses and wig right away so nobody saw 👍🏻 She was completely unphased, it’s not her first rodeo with mom making a mistake, and mistakes happen 😊 Still a good mom, and today she’s ready to GO #stillagoodmom #teachersareheroes

That’s exactly the point Debbie 🙄🥹 Can we please just agree to stop shaming moms both for how much they want to carry their babies, and ALSO for when they just need to put them down and have a break? My first was colicky, and there were SO many times I needed to put her down crying in a safe spot so I could walk away and simply ✨breathe✨. Still a good mom who loved her baby. This is my third and last and every time I hold him a part of me is slowly saying goodbye to the baby phase that has been a part of my life in some way for five years now. I will keep holding him as much as I can until I can’t anymore. Still a good mom who loves her baby.

I’ve seen the trend showing how partners become distant after a baby. If you’re one of the people freaked out by it, here is one reason why it can happen, and how to fix it. There is a MASSIVE disparity on things that change for the woman when a baby comes (her body, breastfeeding if that’s your choice, hormone changes, etc.), and often couples don’t know how to balance it. So women get left with most of it, and men get left alone and behind. One way you can show up for your partner is to pick up the slack when she’s breastfeeding (because that’s a literal full time job that takes her literal HOURS of her day AND night). If you’re not sure how, then let me help you out with just a few of the LONG list of things you can do: ✨Care for your partner: -Does she have fresh water? -Is there anything else she wants to drink? -Does she need medicine? Is her pain okay? -Is she hungry? Can you get her something to eat that she can easily eat with one hand? -Does she need pillows? Is she in a comfortable nursing position? How can you help her get comfortable? When all these things are handled, THEN you can get started on other things that need attention around the house: ✨Is there laundry that needs washing or folding? ✨Is there a plan for dinner? ✨Are there bottles or pump parts that need cleaning? ✨Are there other children around that need caring for? ✨ Are there dishes that need to be washed? A dishwasher that needs emptying? ✨Is there a plan for food for the week? Can a list be made for the grocery store? I could go on forever, but you hopefully get the point. If you don’t tackle these things, then she has to. On TOP of breastfeeding. On TOP of physically, mentally, and emotionally recovering from birthing an entire human being. Figuring out how to balance this ever adjusting load helped a TON with me wanting to kill my husband 🥰 Making an actual list can help too. #momlife #postpartum #lifeafterbaby #breastfeedingproblems #fairplay
