This message applies also to the victims of terror in Israel. Mala Tribich and her brother Ben were the only ones in the family to survive the Holocaust. Mala was sent to Ravensbrück concentration camp and from there to Bergen-Belsen where she nearly died of Typhus. After the war she was sent to Sweden where she spent two years before receiving a letter from her brother Ben, who she didn’t know had survived. Mala’s brother Ben Helfgott z”l was a lifelong Holocaust educator as well as Olympian (one of two Holocaust survivors to be competing in Olympics) and a weightlifter.
