Part 4 - What do you think of the new rug? 🥹 I love honouring the craftsmanship and thoughtful design of these classic timeless pieces. Because this space is so long and narrow, it is important for me to ensure that the objects are to scale, very grand in presence but without taking up to much visual space. This rug is everything in terms of quality and strength while still being unbelievably beautiful. I have so many ideas for the pieces that will be complementing it, and of course we will be adding in bits of colour to honour the space as well. Right now I think the palette matches perfectly with the architecture and original structure of this place - the deep browns and natural wood materials feel so cohesive after setting the rug down! We edited the sofa today! Yes I got my wisdom tooth pulled an hour before filming this and yes I unknowingly had a fever and was wondering why I had to keep taking my sweater off so I’m sure you can see the reflections off my face :) As I mentioned I have been so intrigued by a deep brown corduroy sofa as the base of this entire concept for the space. I remember specifically a year ago when I first found the space that it would be a mixture of the dark brown and maroon and I was so excited! Can you believe how such a small piece already made the living room shift? Can you imagine what it will look like once it’s all done?
