Another comfort meal from my kitchen to yours. As a mom of twins, one thing about cooking in my house means that meals can’t be too time consuming. So they need to be simple yet delicious. And simple meals are always the best Aloo chawli ki sabji: Ingredients 2 cup dry black eyed peas 2 medium sized potatoes 4 cup water 1 tsp turmeric Salt as needed 2 whistles Curry base: 2 tomatoes 2 garlic cloves 1 green chilli 1 small piece ginger Handful cilantro 1 tbsp oil 1 tsp cumin seeds 1/4 tsp asafoetida 1/2 tsp turmeric 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder 2 tsp coriander powder 1/4 cup water Grind into paste upon cooling To make sabji: 1 tbsp ghee 1 tsp cumin seeds Boiled chawli potatoes Curry base 1 tsp garam masala Salt as needed 1/4 cup water Chopped cilantro leaves for garnishing Method: Soak dry black eyed peas for 3-4 hours Then add in pressure cooker, along with potatoes, water, turmeric and salt.
