EEG - She did it 🙌🏼✨ swipe ➡️ to see the present she picked after 🫶 Hallie was referred for an eeg. Basically she’s been zoning out since she was a baby and she’d have stages where it would be a lot and then not so much. I remember when I asked her old community paediatrician when she was around age 2 ( when she was under autism assessment) and she told me “let’s do, one thing at one” at that time she had referrals here there and everywhere. Genetics, sleep studies etc. but when I mentioned it again to her new paediatrician and showed her the videos we had. She said straight away said she needs a referral. Both of us never thought Hallie would cope with this due to her sensory issues and demand avoidant personality. And appointment where Hallie has been to examined or be close to a doctor have gone terrible. But today was different. I’d spent a lot of time preparing Hallie. The hospital sent a social story and qr code to watch some videos. I spoke to Hallie about all the fun things we could take; snacks, toys and new game on iPad. I kept reminding her most days for the last 2 weeks. The doctor was amazing. She stuck wires and tapes to her teddies first, she put Peppa on her TV for her to watch and she was so kind, playful and patient. Hallie instantly liked her. Which is usually how I know how things will go. Because Hallie makes an instant decision if she’s going to cooperate or if she’s not depending on if she likes a person. Hallie was in her appointment for around an hour. She had to blow a windmill and look at lots of flashing lights. Honestly I can’t tell you how amazing she did. She’s made us all so proud. I discussed my gut feeling that I think it’s sensory related and that since she’s been off school it’s seem to have calmed down loads which tells me it’s connected to exhaustion and burnout. But we will get the results in around 3 weeks. At last a positive hospital experience ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you everyone for your supportive messages. Hallie picked out a frozen costume.
