TW: fertility. I didn’t realise until today just how much anticipation I used to hold each month before my period came. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions while you convince yourself that every symptom you’re feeling is potentially pregnancy but simultaneously undermining every symptom in order to not get your hopes up. Then your period arrives & you try tell yourself it’s ok, you question if maybe it’s implantation bleeding or maybe the timing wasn’t right or maybe I didn’t do the right things or maybe the universe is telling me I shouldn’t do this? And this repeats month after month, while you go about your life. And honestly, it takes a serious toll. Until one day, your period doesn’t come & instead you see a positive test and somehow you forget just how hard it was to get to this moment. For anyone in the thick of this cycle, I am sending you so much love. It’s not easy to silently get your hopes up month after month.
