body. Today I put on a dance workout & let Marla watch. It was so damn cute, she was babbling away and moving around. Bit by bit I hope she will piece together that she should be proud of her body, that she can move in whatever way works for her & that our bodies arenât meant to be perfect đ€ The workouts in doing are from @growwithjo on YouTube, they are SO epic to get the endorphins going & to simply just move!

I often get asked by parents, âhow do I teach my kid about different bodies?â I believe the first step is watching how you speak about your body, & how you speak of others around you. Our kids absorb so much of what we say, and how we interact. Another step is allowing their curiosity. I can easily tell the kids who have been told not to stare at me, and yes itâs a hard one to navigate because staring can cause angst but I love nothing more than a young kid who has the confidence and curiosity to ask about my leg and almost every single time their response is pretty incredible. They say itâs like a robot or as my niece says, âaunty Jess, I love your special legâ. Allow them to be curious about those who are different because that is how they learn. Another step is finding ways to surround your kids with those you are different from them, whether that be kids who are a different ethnicity or people with disabilities or different cultures, itâs so important our kids grow up seeing the diverse world we live in đ€

TW: fertility. I didnât realise until today just how much anticipation I used to hold each month before my period came. Itâs a rollercoaster of emotions while you convince yourself that every symptom youâre feeling is potentially pregnancy but simultaneously undermining every symptom in order to not get your hopes up. Then your period arrives & you try tell yourself itâs ok, you question if maybe itâs implantation bleeding or maybe the timing wasnât right or maybe I didnât do the right things or maybe the universe is telling me I shouldnât do this? And this repeats month after month, while you go about your life. And honestly, it takes a serious toll. Until one day, your period doesnât come & instead you see a positive test and somehow you forget just how hard it was to get to this moment. For anyone in the thick of this cycle, I am sending you so much love. Itâs not easy to silently get your hopes up month after month. I hope more than anything that you meet your little darling soon đ«¶đŒ #ttc #periodtalk #fertilityjourney #endometriosis #endowarrior #womenshealth
