We visited Evaga Desert Kitchen at The Elmont in Montecillo and were in for a treat! This is a highly recommended hotspot, we had such a wonderful experience! 😍 The place, including the restaurant, the swim club, and the area, has a great vibe. The food selection combines Mexican and Asian fusion, but they have some unique items on the menu that you will not find anywhere else 🤤 First and foremost, you MUST try the compressed watermelon. It’s a starter, but it works well as a dessert, too. It's compressed watermelon topped with goat cheese cream and almonds, and it has a citrusy taste. It's one of those things that should not work together, and yet it does, and we loved it! 🍉 The arrachera we had is served as a steak with their version of chimichurri, potatoes, and veggies, the portion is large and the taste is great, ours was perfectly cooked to a medium 🥩 We had the evaga chicken sandwich, which on paper might look like your typical option, but the spicy honey sauce and Asian spin on it makes it a great choice. You have to try it! 😍 Evaga is also a very nice place for drinks. We had the cosmo and the margarita, not overwhelmingly strong, a little on the sour side in a good way, and not too sweet 🍸 While it may be a bit intimidating to drive up there, the area is open to the public. The restaurant is open now, and we heard the swim club will open to the public on April 19th with a lot of DJ’s coming up starting with Afrojack on April the 27th 🎧 We definitely want to go back to try some other things, like their brunch where they offer interesting and unique takes on the classics.
