Throwing aesthetics out the window, here’s a rice cooker Hainan chicken rice - lazy student dietitian edition. Recipe (serves 2) Ingredients: 🍗 4-5 Chicken thighs, skin on 🍗 Sesame oil 🍗 Salt 🍚 1 shallot, minced 🍚 4 cloves garlic, minced 🍚 1/2 tsp minced ginger 🍚 2 tsp butter 🍚 1 cup rice, washed 🍚 1 bunch spring onion 🍚 1 cup chicken stock 1. Season chicken thighs with salt & sesame oil and let marinate. 2. Set rice cooker to cook. Melt butter in rice cooker. When bubbling, sauté minced shallot, garlic & ginger. 3. Add in rice & mix to combine. 4. Place spring onion & chicken thighs on top of rice. 5. Pour in chicken stock. 6. Set rice cooker to ‘cook rice’ function. 7. Let it do its thang. 8.
