Here’s I did it! ⬇️ Cause I got tired of going to the gym only to stand around not knowing what the hell I was doing, goof off for an hour and then go home like “Ok, that was boring” 🤷🏾♀️🙄 Here are the major shifts I made that helped me lose over 30 lbs and getting in the best shape of my life: 👉🏾 I followed a structured routine with workouts I enjoyed that helped me feel healthy and confident all year long. I ditched the boring cardio and switched to dance workouts to help me burn more calories. I also added fun strength workouts to my routine to help me “tone” and shape my body. Doing this made exercise feel like less of chose which made it easier for me to stay consistent. 👉🏾 I added more activity to my day by increasing my steps, so I wouldn’t have to eat less or force myself to swallow bland celery sticks everyday. This helped eat more without stressing about gaining all my weight back.🕺🏾 👉🏾 I chose to show up even when I didn’t “feel like it”, instead of waiting for motivation. Consistent action is the only way you’re going to see results. I practiced choosing myself and my goals over my feelings. Your goals are too important for you to keep putting them off until “next Monday or next New Years” Losing weight is already a challenge, so if you keep doing things that make you absolutely miserable, you won't stick to it. If you’re trying to make your waist smaller, but not doing arm workouts — you’re working against your body goals Before I lost 30 lbs, I used to hate them too because I thought working my upper body would make me look "manly" 🙈🤷🏾♀️ . But I didn’t want to just lose weight — I also wanted to feel strong and toned when I looked in the mirror I started adding arm workouts to my routine and it completely changed the shape of my body . That’s because a “toned” upper body will make your waist look smaller in comparison [it's all about your proportions, baby] 😉👙 . But walking around confused at the gym and doing a couple of curls aint gon’ cut it 😄 . That’s why I created this 15 minute routine to make arm day hella fun and help you shape your curves at home . All you need is a towel or t-shirt to warm up and some medium dumbbells [or whatever you have at home]. . If I had to lose 30 pounds all over again, here’s exactly how I would structure my workout plan for fat loss 👇🏾👀 . And I’d do this without: ❌ going to the gym ❌ spending hours doing boring cardio ❌ saving 1,000 YouTube workout playlists only for them to collect dust on my phone . Here’s what I’d do instead: 👉🏾 2-3 strength workouts a week (30 minutes) . To get those “Angela Basset arms”, you need to add strength exercises to your routine. 💪🏾 . The more muscle you have, the more fat you’ll burn just by sitting here and reading this post 😎🔥 . I’d do at least one lower body and one upper body strength workout consistently to make losing body fat and keeping it off a lot easier 💪🏾 . 👉🏾 1-2 cardio workouts a week (30 minutes) . Cardio is great for your heart and helping you burn more calories— but doing cardio you hate is why you can’t stay consistent 😬 . Stop thinking that the treadmill or stairmaster is better for burning fat. . I lost 30 lbs mostly doing DANCE workouts in my living room🥳💃🏾 . Find the cardio you enjoy the most and stick to it! . 👉🏾 A 20-minute walk as many days as you can . This can be a game changer especially if you feel like you’ve hit a plateau with your fitness . Staying active outside your workouts is great for overall health and will help you see better results even faster . This plan combined with proper nutrition is going to have you feeling confident enough to rock a bathing suit like you’re ✨that girl✨ for your next vacation. 🥳 .
