I get that our fruit and fresh produce in the US can be different and that farmer market strawberries are usually picked the same day as you get them but that can’t be the only answer. Baffled. Would love to know why this is the case? Anyone out there know the answer. The more science and explanation the better. Thank you kindly! This technique plus the flower food will keep your blooms going for weeks. Why cut the stems under water? The reason for this is because when the stem is cut, the flower's roots immediately loses access to water. As air flows through the stem, an air pocket or embolism occurs, preventing the absorption of water. Cutting underwater reduces the risk of air pockets and allows the flowers to absorb water right away. #springishere #springhassprung #bouquetdefleurs #flowertips #homeeconomics #lifetipsandtricks #tipsforsuccess #thehomeceo #kitchenhacks #kitchentips Flower food: Ingredients: - 1 quart (about 1 liter) of water - 1 tablespoon sugar - 2 tablespoons white vinegar or lemon juice Add Vinegar or lemon. Why? Add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar or lemon juice. This step is crucial as it helps to lower the pH level of the water, making it easier for the water to travel up the stem. It also inhibits the growth of bacteria in the water, keeping it cleaner and fresher for longer. Tips for Use: - Change the Water Regularly: Even with flower food, it’s important to change the water every two to three days to prevent bacterial growth and keep your flowers healthy. - Recut Stems: Every time you change the water, recut the stems at a 45-degree angle to enhance water absorption. - Keep Away from Sunlight: Place your flowers in a cool area away from direct sunlight and drafts to help them last longer

Grout cleaner for the win! Make this mixture into a paste and apply: 3% hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dish soap. Apple the paste let it sit and rinse with warm water as you gently scrub. Not only does it work, it lasts longer than regular cleaners. Unsure why but I love it. Update: Mix together 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide, and 1 tsp dish soap. Apply cleaning mixture onto the grout, let it set for 15 or more minutes, scrub, sweep up the excess baking soda, and rinse. Was this helpful? Why does this work? Here you go... Stay prepared for your next BBQ by ensuring your propane tank is ready! Simply run hot water over the side of the tank and then feel it with your hand. Where it feels cooler, that's where your propane level is. This neat trick works because propane absorbs heat as it evaporates, cooling down the tank's surface wherever the gas is present. So, you can easily gauge how much propane you have left and avoid running out mid-grill! What's your favorite thing to grill!
