The unfortunate truth is that when I was this size, people assumed I was lazy and not a good worker because of my outer appearance, which was far from the truth. I worked my ass off just to prove myself to others. But now, looking back and comparing the energy I have since losing weight, I would run circles around my old self. Losing weight was not just great for my health and physical appearance, but it also allowed me to level up everywhere in life and become a better person in general. So, if you are judged because of your size, forget them. I don’t think it’s fair to only post wins. Today, I got to the gym mentally and physically ready to pull 565 from my current Max of 545. My first attempt left me mentally shut down and mentally defeated. I couldn’t even pull five plates. I was in my head the whole time because I didn’t get what I wanted. @big_johnjohn recommended that I go down to 4 plates to reset myself, which is the correct thing to do, but I refuse to leave that platform until I pull the 5 plates. ‘I refuse to let my inner BTCH voice win.’ This is how strong our mindset is when something happens and we don’t get our way; we want to give up. I refuse to give up today. Now, I did not get my Max. I didn’t get my last PR, but I refuse to let my brain tell me what I can’t do, especially when I know my limitation. The last clips u pulled 5 plates for 5 and I left happy that I didn’t give up and at least pulled the 5 plates instead of pull 4… #weightlossjourney #deadlift #nogivingup

every day this week I’ll be posting a video of some meals we can make for this upcoming weekend to help us stay on track. This is one of my favorites you got to give this a try! 🔻🔻🔻🔻🔻🔻🔻🔻🔻🔻 Macros per short rib: Calories: 187 Protein: 14 Fat: 13 Carbs: 5 Ingredients: * 2 lbs beef flanken short ribs (rendered 13 ribs for us) * 1/4 cup light soy sauce * 1 tbsp sesame oil * 1/4 yellow onion * 1 tbsp minced garlic * 1/4 cup Splenda brown sugar blend * 1/2 tbsp black pepper * 1/2 lime Instructions: * In a blender or food processor, combine the light soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, Splenda brown sugar blend, black pepper, the juice from half a lime, and the quartered yellow onion. Blend until you have a smooth marinade mixture. * Place the beef flanken short ribs in a large zip-top bag or a shallow dish suitable for marinating. * Pour the blended marinade over the short ribs, ensuring that each rib is coated evenly. If using a zip-top bag, seal it tightly, removing as much air as possible. If using a dish, cover it with plastic wrap or a lid. * Allow the short ribs to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight. This will allow the flavors to penetrate the meat and enhance its taste. * Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. * Remove the marinated short ribs from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes. * Place the short ribs on the grill, directly over the heat source. Cook for approximately 3-4 minutes per side, or until the ribs reach your desired level of doneness. The exact cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the ribs and the heat of your grill. * While grilling, you can brush some of the leftover marinade onto the ribs for added flavor, if desired. Be sure to discard any marinade that has come into contact with raw meat. * Once cooked, transfer the short ribs to a serving platter and let them rest for a few minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.
